I've heard Bad Education described as "film noir" and while I guess that's true, it's more of a nod and less of an homage. I just found it to sort of become a different film every 15 minutes or so, and it wasn't satisfying as a whole. I'd love to know what you think of it, when you get to see it. That said, Talk to Her is not a "typical" Almodóvar film in that it's much more controlled and subdued than his earlier work.
