Interview With Mr. Z.

Hey, go and read my friend Six’s interview with Jeffrey Zeldman. It’s really good. I’ve sort of admired Zeldman for a while, but didn’t really think he’d be so warm and human (especially not from the mugshot on his site!). Now, he seems so approachable and friendly, I might just stalk him if he goes to SxSW and give him a great big hug. Well, maybe not…

Thanks to you, loyal readers, and especially thanks to Heather, Cherrymag is off and running, with almost 300 visitors yesterday. (Now, what will it take to get Heather to link me again…)

Many Thanks to Ev

Many thanks to Ev. I am now in the Blogger directory. Turned out to be my own stupid fault, I had the wrong page listed, but it was cut off in the preferences by a very small text field (listening, Pyrites?). Actually, it really is my own fault. Not even sure it’s good to be listed now, as I’ll be moving to the new domain any day now.

Brooke passes along her thanks for any and all who have checked out Cherrymag. They are just getting rolling, folks. Stay tuned…

Consolationchamps.com

Well, I’ve gone and done it. I’ve registered the domain consolationchamps.com. I’ll be moving this here blog over in the next week or so. Be a sport and bookmark www.consolationchamps.com now. I’ll eventually have a redirect at this page (members.home.com.blah.blah.blah), but I’d like to get the new URL out there. You may also receive an email if you’re at all known to me, so please don’t get upset if you hear the same thing more than once. I don’t want to lose anyone. I decided to host the site with Dreamhost, who are also hosting Cherrymag (which launches this weekend, ready or not!). I’ve found them to be pretty organized and responsive. If you need solid hosting with great support, check them out and tell them I sent you. It doesn’t hurt that I get 10% of whatever hosting fees are paid by my referral. Share the love!

Thanks Caterina!

Many thanks to Caterina for the link today. She also has an excellent blog, and I’m actually embarrassed that I haven’t added it to my little table of links. That is, until now. I really hope that I can meet some of you nice people at SxSW next year. It’s also thanks to Caterina that I discovered the comix genius of Chris Ware and Daniel Clowes. I’ve bought up a whole bunch of Eightball comics as well as Ghost World (Clowes) and also sprung for the hardcover Danny Corrigan (Ware). All excellent purchases and highly recommended, even to non-comix types such as myself (or maybe my former self, now…) And they will be doing a signing at local comix mecca The Beguiling next Saturday, September 30, from 3-5pm.

Also, on Sunday next week, I’ll be at Canzine 2000, a zine show being held at The Big Bop, at Queen and Bathurst. It runs from 1-8, with a huge fair of over 150 zine publishers. I’m there supporting Brooke and Jen’s new venture, Cherrymag. It will be live on that day, but bookmark it now! And drop down if you’re in T.O., and say Hi and get a Cherrymag sticker, and see our new iBook!
