Following up on my disturbing discovery yesterday, here are the latest SXSW registration numbers:
It appears to be shaping up to be a cosy affair. I’m going to try to track this a bit, but as far as I know, in past years, attendance was in the 2,000-3,000 range. Hard to believe people are passing up the early registration discounts. We’ll see…

Since I’m registered for SXSW, I got an email giving me access to the online registrant directory. Does anyone else think it’s strange that there only seem to be about 200 people registered so far? I’m hoping all this talk of Dot.com Meltdown™ and Blog Backlash™ doesn’t mean you’re not coming this year. C’mon!
In church yesterday morning, an older woman was reading a passage in which she was supposed to say “a young man marries a young woman.” Instead, she read, “a young man marries a young man.” I had a little giggle. Did she slip up or was she secretly a crusading granny? Meanwhile, across town, two gay couples wed. Coincidence?
