I could have been on TV last night. Jayme emailed me a few days ago to say she’d been contacted to appear on The Chatroom, a cable show here in Canada. They were going to talk about blogging and the Kaycee Nicole thing. Although I was initially interested, the producer didn’t call me back until yesterday morning, by which time I’d arranged to do something else. But Jayme said it was a good time, and it was nice to be thought of in the capacity of “spokesman for blogging who should appear on cable shows in Canada.” Not quite world domination, but getting there… 😉
U2@MuchMusic
U2 played two shows in Toronto on Thursday and Friday night. After meeting my birthday friend Brad (see below) and his wife Rebecca on Friday for dinner, he informed Brooke and I that U2 were coming by Muchmusic for an interview thing after their show, and that they were going to go (Brad’s a pretty huge U2 fan). So, we waited two and a half hours in the rain outside with hordes of screaming fans. And we saw them. At one point, they came out to the open window area where we were standing and we were about 6 feet away. That was pretty cool. But there were times when I wanted to punch some of the bozos in the crowd. I mean, some of them really need to get a life.
Happy Birthday, Brad!
Happy Birthday, Brad!
Now hurry up and get a web site so I can link to it.
Chins Up, Pyrates!
A bad week for former Pyrates Meg Hourihan and Matt Haughey. Not only did their sites (including Metafilter) go down for the past few days, but they’ve both lost their jobs. Again. Best of luck, guys. I’m saving a few of my “please help _____ find a job” prayers for you. And for me.
