Tangentially related to my last post: Meg’s buying a Mac! I’m seeing more and more Windows users buying Macs for the first time, or returning to the platform since OS X came out. It’s heartening. Let’s see, in the last few months, that’s Meg (and Jason), Mike, Andre, Mike, and Jish joining other Mac regulars from my sidebar, like Brad, Michael, Dan, Jeffrey, Derek, Dean, Josh, Rik, Jay, and Todd. Have I left you out?
Old Tech
Matt notes that even though Netscape 4 is approaching its FIFTH birthday, clients still complain if a site breaks using it. I work in the computer retail business, and I’m still dealing with many many people using Windows 95. That one is SEVEN years old. Even though the computer and internet industries change rapidly, the people who use these products resist change to the point of lunacy. They think every new “upgrade” is some sort of trick to get them to spend more money. Sure, they’re partially right, but sometimes I just want to shake them anyway.
NYC Blogger Map
The New York City Blogger Map is a way cool idea. I wonder if we could do something similar for GTABloggers? After all, we have a subway map, too…
The Continental Club

march 2002 : austin : the continental club
My favourite photo of 174 taken at SxSW 2002. If you’ve been wondering where the rest are, I’m having mixed feelings about doing a wrapup for this year. First, it’s a ton of work, and I’m really busy. Second, I’m not sure I won’t exceed my transfer limits, since people will probably check out last year’s section at the same time. I’m toying with putting it up and taking down last year for a while, or just posting a few pics. But mostly, I’m just lazy.
About “About A Boy”
Just got back from seeing About A Boy. I’d read and loved the book when it first came out, and although I was worried the filmmakers were marketing it as a “chick flick,” I really enjoyed it. The soundtrack, by Badly Drawn Boy, is also really good. I can’t get the song “Something to Talk About” out of my head.
